VOICE PARTS AND SPLITS ALPHABETICAL NEW as of 3/10/26
VOICE PARTS AND SPLITS BY SECTION NEW as of 3/10/26
STANDING ORDER CHARTS NEW as of 3/10/26
NOTE: Decisions about standing order for this concert have been incredibly complex and have taken a considerable amount of time! In general, the Ireland tour choir is in the center so they can hear the core sound that they will tour with. We will work out sight lines and spacing issues in rehearsal. I ask that the only issues you bring to me are if you do not have enough part support around you or do not have an accommodation that you need.

Somebody to Love (Freddy Mercury, arr. Liam Bates)
No Performance Recording available, but here is a little Queen for you!
NOTES: Sopranos and altos use 3-part split wherever it says Sopranos divide

Parting Hand (William Walker)
NOTES: We will sing this in the shape note tradition - singing the solfège syllable first (we'll practice that!) followed by the words. Then we will sing vs. 1, 2, and 4 - the words are in three different places on the page! The recordings available are all in live and boistrous shape-note conferences where this is a traditional parting song. Yes, we will practice a brassier timbre and free, more raw singing, and we will find a healthy and vibrant choral sound somewhere between a lofted sound and the ones that you hear on the recordings.

Parting Glass (Traditional, arr. Liam Bates)
Performance Recording
Rehearsal Recordings may be provided by the arranger. We will see!
NOTES: We will use a 3-Part split in the sopranos and altos any time Liam notes a soprano divide. Tenors and basses use a 3-part split for the last note. I do not know Liam's intentions for the solo lines yet.
